My approach

I’m a learning expert with 10+ years of experience driving innovation in higher education. My work spans competency-based learning and instructional design, accessibility, faculty/staff development, and large-scale change management. I’m known for inspiring teams, growing leaders, and communicating big ideas with clarity.

Accessibility by Design, at Scale

Making accessibility a design principle, not a retrofit.

I led PSU’s Accessibility by Design Project, embedding WCAG- and ADA-aligned practices into every course and program. By reframing accessibility as proactive, we reduced barriers, empowered faculty, and built a learner-centered design process that measurably impacted key retention and success metrics.

“Accessibility isn’t a fix — it’s the foundation of equity. This project is the work I’m most proud of.”

Workplace Skills

Redefining rigor with a shared language for learning.

At WGU, I worked with the Assessment Council and the Open Skills Network to develop the first major revision to the competency model since the university’s founding. The Competency Levels Framework created a shared taxonomy for rigor across disciplines, improving alignment and scalability.

“This framework gave faculty and designers a common language — making curriculum more consistent, scalable, and learner-centered.”

Active +Adaptive

Using data and adaptive courseware to boost student success.

Summary:
Through the APLU/Gates Active + Adaptive initiative, I co-led PSU’s effort to embed predictive analytics and adaptive learning in high-enrollment courses. The project reduced DFW rates, improved faculty confidence, and reached 5,500+ students.

“Faculty began to see data not as punitive, but as a tool for empowering student success.”
